on the move

Amelia started rolling pretty much the day we moved in here and she turned 4 months old.

[I almost wonder if she would've done it sooner if she wasn't being held or Ergo'd or locked down in a carseat for the first four months of her life?]

Since then she's become this crazy fast, tricky, rotating roller, and in the past few weeks has been trying to crawl. She first tried a bear crawl. Hilarious. And way more work than normal knee-crawling.

Then, she'd get on the correct four points of contact, and look at her hands, willing them to move, but fall over when she tried. It looked like she was about to figure it out before she turned 6 months, but you could almost watch her think:

"I can so roll over twice and turn 90 degrees to get that toy in half the time that it would take to figure this forward motion business out."

And then Sunday morning, Mr. Camel [a beloved new stuffed animal from Dubai, given to her last weekend by her 'Aunt' Chels] changed the game. He was just a foot or two away, directly ahead, and she made the dive.

Crawling.

Tonight she topped a pizza box. Tomorrow, who knows?

Amelia now has a Christmas list:
          1. Baby gates.

Just kidding. Maybe.
Love you dearly, Little One.

PS- Almost a shame we aren't taking her trick-or-treating... She'd knock Pebbles out of the park.

  1. Whoa boooooooy! Crawling, and so early! (As you know, my girls were heavy on the tardy sauce in that department!) now the fun will really begin! She is just so cute with her outrageous dimples and long hairs! Sure wish we could see her!

  2. Go, Amelia!! Claire is scooting all over the place, but still working on getting that booty in the air. I love her little whale spout ponytail, ha ha!
