This past weekend, my parents flew in from Kansas!
Mom, Dad, Tim & I had a great time visiting!
.... Amelia, on the other hand, had a rough weekend.
There were a few giggles & smiles, and many distraction tactics employed...
but something was really bothering her, poor girl. She decided to not sleep much Friday night, but fortunately my parents took over at 7am. After a few hours of rest, we visited a local area of market shops and found a few fun things to try like pumpkin biscotti and dried kiwi.
And we did a bit of site-seeing around town. Here we are on the Incline that carries passengers up and down a very steep hill near the river:
If you look closely, you'll see Amelia gnawing a bite-sized Twix. Grandpa came up with this stroke of genius. I think all she wants for Christmas are wrappers.
Grandma brought up some bigger, warmer clothes for Amelia, which was much appreciated. And there were lots of polka dots, which was very much appreciated-- at least by me :-).
Smiles by the Incline...
and near the river downtown (please note the beautiful bridges!).
And finally we went to a ball game, where we employed the other magic happy-tool: a fresh feeder filled with frozen banana. Never mind that the ice pack leaked & soaked my rear. Peace comes at a price.
She was able to sleep in the Ergo for much of the game, and was so zonked from the night before that she even transferred to the car like a rock.
Playing after Church with Grandma...
.. and with Grandpa, too. This time, a plastic water bottle. Grandpas have the best entertainment ideas.
We snuck in a quick card game, drank a lot of coffee, and put in a lot of miles on the stroller (well, G & G did most of those). We really enjoyed the weekend!
Thanks for coming!! You're welcome again any time.

Sounds like a nice weekend! I've never seen your Dad before! Amelia is getting so big and her dimples get me every time. And, I'm also loving how color coordinated your little family is in the last picture. Did you plan that?
